Hi, I was using gsctu without problems with previous Gemini data.
However, I recieved today new data taken with GMOS and the first problem arouse. When I tried to run Gscut I had this:

ERROR: Attempt to access undefined local variable `ry2′.

    “speccen = (ry2 + ry1) / 2.”
    line 653: gmos$gscut.cl
    called as: `gscut (mode=h)’

    I would appreciate any help.
    regards

    Hello,

Are you using the latest Gemini IRAF 1.13? I’m having a hard time seeing from a quick look at gscut how this error would occur, so I think we’d need to see your data and the command you’re running to help out further. This may make a better helpdesk request than a forum post.

    Cheers,

    James.

    Hi James,
thanks for your answer. I’m using IRAF V2.13 and Gemini V1.10.
Now I’ve installed IRAF V2.14.1 and Gemini V1.13 and gscut is working ok.

Anyway, why the task did not work with the new data remains as a mistery.

    regards

Great. Is this for GMOS South? Support was only added for the new GMOS-S detectors (installed last year) in the latest Gemini IRAF 1.13 release. Note that you can get both IRAF and the Gemini package easily by installing Ureka (http://ssb.stsci.edu/ureka/) if you need to do it again in future.
