    Hi,

    I have adapted the code for MOS spectra with Pyraf provided in the GMOS Data reduction Cookbook to reduce my data. Everything in the code works fine until when it arrives at the Gsreduce of MOS Science and Arc exposures**. In the Gsreduce log it seems that Gsreduce works fine for the Arcs, but it get stucked for the Science data. I put the Gsreduce log attached to this post.

    I’m using Pyraf 2.17.13 and Gemini Iraf package 1.14.

    I would appreciate any help 🙂

    A long shot. From the logs you’ve sent, the last call to gsreduce is on a very, very long list of files. There’s an IRAF limit on the length of string, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were hitting that limit.

    Try using the “@” list format instead. List your input files in a normal text file, one file name per line, and feed that to gsreduce.

    For example:
    In “my_input_files.txt”:

    S20171220S0054
    S20171220S0055
    S20171220S0056
    S20171220S0057
    ....
    S20171220S0144

    Then call gsreduce as follow:

    gsreduce @my_input_files.txt ...the other params...

    Might help, might not, but it is certainly worth a try. Good luck!
